Child care

My 'Make a difference challenge', a raised pedestrian crossing across Darley Rd at the level of Market St, Randwick, is situated between a child care center and a park. The childcare centre is among many reasons to put a raised pedestrian crossing in at this position. A child could leave the premises of the childcare centre heading towards the playground area and walk straight out on to the road and get run over by a car. Another reason is that a great many children cross the road there to go from the Queens Park Pizza place to Queens park for a picnic, a sporting game or to play in the playgound.

I think that is a great issue Robbie. Not that I know much about that area but it seems pretty dangerous crossing that road. It is pretty easy to see why you would put a crossing there i can imagine people crossing there 24 7 especially on a weekend when there is sport.

Well Done!

Good luck with your issue Robbie. I can see why it is important to protect the children crossing the road. People could come speeding around the corner and run people over. With a raised pedestrian crossing they will have to slow down.

Good Thinking and Good luck
